DO Day Call to Action

With DO Day approaching, we want to bring 2 bills that need support to your attention. There are 2 legislative bills slated to receive public hearings in the House of Representatives and the Senate this month. These critical bills leverage federal funds to promote access to care for Medicaid enrollees by increasing Medicaid reimbursement rates.

  • House Bill 1392 by Rep. Nicole Macri will be heard in the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday, February 13th.
  • Senate Bill 5372 by Sen. Marcus Riccelli will be heard in the Senate Health & Long Term Care Committee on Thursday, February 20th.

Sharing your support for these bills with legislators right now is very important. With the hearing on HB 1392 coming up next week, the legislative website allows you to register your support for the bill. Click Here, select HB 1392, then note your position for the public record or submit written testimony. You can also send your local legislators an email. Click Here to search your legislative district and get a list of your local legislators. Contact information is available on each of their profiles.

These bills are going to require a lot of support and engagement from all of the physician community. Please help by ensuring legislators know that they are a priority of physicians across the state of Washington.

If you haven't yet signed up for DO Day on February 27th and want to attend, please click below to register ASAP. (Appointments with your legislators are unlikely this late in the process, but in the past we have had quite a few information drop offs to legislator offices turn into spontaneous meetings! )
